Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has a contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2019 and is yet to sign a new deal at the Premier League club.
It’s being reported the 25-year-old is considering his options amidst interest from Real Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain.
Belgian star Kevin de Bruyne signed a new contract at Manchester City yesterday and that has prompted Belgian newspaper HLN to give an update on Courtois’ situation at the London club.
HLN say it’s been confirmed to them that Real Madrid are considering another attempt to sign the Chelsea goalkeeper. In fact, contacts have already been made quickly.
New deal to make Thibaut Courtois the most paid goalkeeper in the world
On their part, Chelsea have already offered the Belgian a lucrative contract that would make him the most paid goalkeeper in the world.
HLN, however, claim that Chelsea’s reluctance to offer ‘financial and sporting’ guarantees to Courtois in December has forced the player to consider his options.
It’s been explained Courtois’ kids are still in Spain with his ex-girlfriend and that’s probably why he wants to return.
Real Madrid, however, must make a concrete move for Courtois soon. It’s been stated the Spanish giants have had many backroom conversations, calls and messages over the signing of the former Atletico Madrid star, but have rarely taken any concrete steps.
