Paris-Saint Germain enter race to sign Lassana Diarra, Jose Mourinho has ‘sniffed’ the bargain

Paris-Saint Germain have entered the race to sign Manchester United target Lassana Diarra, according to French newspaper Le Parisien.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after being released by Al Jazira last month and has been linked to a host of top European clubs.

Le Parisien reckon Paris-Saint Germain have also entered the frame to sign the French midfielder after an injury to Thiago Motta.

However, Jose Mourinho knows  Lassana Diarra well after coaching him at Chelsea and Real Madrid. It’s reported Mourinho has ‘sniffed’ the bargain signing and Diarra was also in England last week.

The former Real Madrid star has now returned to Paris, as he weighs his options. Le Parisien believe Lassana Diarra prefers signing for Paris-Saint Germain, but is yet to make a decision.

Paris-Saint Germain boss Unai Emery and Antero Henrique consider him to be a good pick, but must reach an agreement in the coming days.

Inter also keen on the French star but he is keen on playing in the Champions League, and that means a move to the Serie A giants is a bit unlikely.

It’d be interesting to see if Manchester United can convince the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder to snub interest from Paris-Saint Germain and join them.
