Liverpool and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on Zorya Luhansk goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, reports Mundo Deportivo in Spain.
The 18-year-old has made a name for himself in the Ukrainian Premier League and many consider him as one of the best talents in Eastern Europe.
Mundo Deportivo state Liverpool and Manchester City are keen on Andriy Lunin’s services, but face strong competition from La Liga side Real Sociedad.
Fed up with the mistakes of Argentine goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli, Real Sociedad are considering signing Andriy Lunin in January.
However, the Spainsh side don’t want to pay beyond €6m for Andriy Lunin and it remains to be seen if Zorya Luhansk would want to sell him at that price.
It’s a bit unlikely Liverpool and Manchester City consider the Ukrainian goalkeeper as a first team signing, but could see him as someone for the future.
It’s no secret Liverpool might be looking to sign a goalkeeper in January or in the summer, and have been heavily linked to AS Roma’s Alisson Becker and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.
Manchester City, on the other hand, signed Ederson at the start of the season. The Brazilian has been quite convincing so far and it’s unlikely Pep Guardiola is looking to make any first team additions in that position.
Lunin featured 16 times in the Ukrainian Premier League last season for Zorya Luhansk keeping a clean sheet in 4 matches. He has also made 6 appearances in the Europa League this season.
