Former India cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra might not be donning the national jersey anymore, but he is still a hardcord Team India fan at heart. And this is reflective in the fact that Aakash Chopra proactively expresses his analytical opinion, both on national television and on social media.
As India once again entered the challenge with South Africa in the 2nd Test in Centurion, Aakash Chopra expressed his thoughts about the pitch and ground conditions. As the wicket was initially offering slow pace and less bounce, the Proteas had taken advantage of it, pressing India with crucial knocks from Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla.
Chopra opined that the wicket was looking to be a good track for the batsmen. He wrote on his Twitter,
“We’ve got an Indian pitch in Centurion. But it’s a good first-day Indian pitch…which means, don’t be surprised if SA piles a mountain of runs.”
Replying to the commentator’s tweet, a Pakistani fan reminded him that India was struggling in the series and wrote, “Haha let’s see who wins”.
The reply quickly came to Aakash Chopra’s notice, when he gave the young Pakistani cricket fan a merciless yet fitting reply. Referring indirectly to Pakistan cricket team’s recent 183-run loss to New Zealand in the 3rd ODI of the 5-match series, Chopra tweeted,
“People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones at others.”
The way Aakash Chopra floored the young troll, it inadvertently brought the Indian cricket fans in the conversation too. We have compiled some of the replies that were given to the Pakistan cricket fan.
– “Glasshouse? Really? You kidding bro… They don’t even have a tin shade..”
– “Sir plz translate in hindi or urdu . otherwise they will not understand what you said”
– “Ind beat Pak in Blind Cricket
Afg beat Pak in u/19 cricket world cup
NZ beat Pak (NZ lead 3-0), Pak all out for 74…
Sadiq bhai, need I say more..”
