Arguably one of the most tricky bowlers in world cricket currently, Rashid Khan’s meteoric rise over the past 2 years has been nothing short of phenomenal. Hailing from the war-torn nation of Afghanistan, the 19-year-old Rashid Khan has already become the face of his country’s cricket.
Rashid Khan has not conceded more than 6 runs in an over this season
Apart from doing wonders for his national team, Rashid Khan has been excellent in the various T20 leagues that he has participated. Currently playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the 7th season of Big Bash League, the 19-year-old has taken 11 wickets. But what is more shocking is the fact that Rashid Khan is yet to concede more than 6 runs in an over this whole season.
Most expensive player in IPL last season
Rashid was the most expensive player from the associate teams in last year’s Indian Premier League auction. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a sum of $600,000.
He had an excellent season foxing the world’s best T20 batsmen. However, he was not retained by the team and will be part of the auction that will be conducted later this month.
Given his performance in the ongoing BBL, it won’t be shocking to see numerous teams going all-out in a bidding war to get the Afghanistan international player.
His country has enjoyed a lot of success in cricket over the past few years and are on the verge of cementing the test playing status with the ICC. Rashid Khan will no doubt be the leader in their bowling line-up for many years to come.
