PSG winger Lucas Moura has verbally agreed a transfer move to Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to reports from Cadena SER.
Man United manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to add a right winger to his squad and sees Lucas as the viable option to sign this month. According to reports, PSG will demand €25million for Lucas Moura’s move to Old Trafford.
Man United wanted to sign Riyad Mahrez or Alexis Sanchez, however, the duo have their hearts set on Liverpool and Manchester City respectively which forced United to look elsewhere.
Lucas has struggled to find a place in the starting XI at PSG since Kylian Mbappe’s arrival and is itching to quit Parc des Princes in January. Lucas wants to establish his place in Brazil’s World Cup squad and sees Man United as his ideal destination.
Back in 2013, Lucas Moura had turned down United to join PSG but his career has failed to take off from that point. At the age of 25, Mourinho believes Lucas is the ideal player to lift United’s season who are trailing Man City by a mammoth 15-point gap.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury concerns have forced United to sign a player in January as the big Swed is expected to part ways with United before the end of January transfer window.
It could see Marcus Rashford being used as the second striker after Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial being given the sole responsibility of playing from the left-hand side.
Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata are more suited to play in the number 10 role and with Lucas Moura’s reported arrival, he and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will take charge of United’s right-wing position.
Reports suggest that Lucas will not be the only signing for Man United in January who are working hard to secure another attacker this month with Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann being tipped to join the club.
