Players who missed out on the honor

Although it is hard to debate the inclusion of any of these 11 players in UEFA’s team of the year for 2017 but likes of David De Gea, Kylian Mbappe, and Paulo Dybala must feel hard done by the eventual call.

De Gea won the Europa League title with Man United while Mbappe had a smashing year with AS Monaco which saw him join PSG last summer. Meanwhile, Dybala guided Juventus to the Champions League final last season and has continued in the same momentum this season as well.
